Itinerary
Day 1 UK - Cologne
We travel to the vibrant city of Cologne and board the mps Lady Anne, where you can relax and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Day 2 Cologne - Andernach
Christmas Eve starts with our included Cologne Highlights walking tour. After lunch we cruise up river to Andernach, where the remainder of the day can be spent exploring the streets and riverside promenades of this attractive walled town. This evening we gather together for a traditional German Christmas dinner.
Day 3 Andernach - Rüdesheim
Merry Christmas! We continue cruising up river through the dramatic narrow Rhine Gorge to the typical Rhineland town of Rüdesheim. Following a traditional British Christmas lunch, you have the option of joining our Rüdesheim Delights excursion which includes a visit to the wonderful mechanical music museum of Siegfried and a mug of Glühwein. This evening you can venture into the captivating street called the Drosselgasse or relax on board and enjoy the entertainment.
Day 4 Rüdesheim - Koblenz
Boxing Day sees us retracing our route down the Rhine Gorge as far as the walled city of Koblenz, where the Moselle meets the mighty Rhine. This afternoon you can relax on board, explore medieval Koblenz or join our optional excursion into the magical Moselle Valley.
Day 5 Koblenz - Bonn
Continuing our course back down the Rhine, we pass the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains) and head for Bonn, the birth place of Ludwig van Beethoven, where you can join the Bonn Highlights excursion to acquaint yourself with this former capital and University City.
Day 6 Bonn - Cologne
We complete our cruise on arrival in the city of Cologne where you are free to explore. Alternatively you can join our optional Romantic Rhine Towns excursion, visiting the pretty towns of Linz and Königswinter, which has a beautiful setting in the Siebengebirge.
Day 7 Cologne - UK
This morning we bid farewell to our Captain and crew and disembark for the return journey to the UK.
