A Classical Danube Cruise
Wind through some of Europe’s most beautiful river scenery. The grandeur of Vienna and the UNESCO-listed city of Regensburg effortlessly combine with the scenic beauty of Passau and Linz, passing vineyards, pretty villages and ancient towns.

- UK/Nuremberg - 1
Your Danube cruise begins with the flight to Munich and onward transfer to Nuremburg and the MV Serenade I. Flights are available from a number of UK airports for your convenience. - Nuremburg - 2
The historic city of Nuremburg is yours to discover this morning. Why not join your Tour Guide for a sightseeing tour to show you the highlights, including the Gothic Our Lady’s Church and the well-preserved medieval town walls. - Regensburg - 3
This morning we arrive in the UNESCO-listed city of Regensburg. There will be the opportunity to join a tour of the medieval city, taking in the Gothic cathedral, the lush botanical gardens, the Adler Apotheke and the 12th century Stone Bridge.
We spend the afternoon cruising the scenic Danube, its wide sloping banks home to vineyards and pretty villages. You’ll
arrive in Passau late this evening. - Passau - 4
You are free to explore Passau this morning, nestled at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers. Make the most of your time by joining your Tour Guide on a walking tour taking in St Stephan’s cathedral and the world’s biggest church organ.
After lunch, sit back and relax on board as you watch the beautiful scenery of the Danube glide past en route to Vienna. - Vienna - 5
The MV Serenade I remains moored in Vienna all day, giving you ample time to explore this Imperial city of fine classical buildings, museums and churches. Be sure to join a guided tour of its highlights; a visit to the elegant Schonbrunn Palace, or perhaps Beethoven’s former home, now a museum.
Fittingly for this musical of cities, a concert featuring the works of Strauss and Mozart will be on offer this evening. - Vienna - 6
You are again free to further explore Vienna this morning. You may like to admire the Hofburg Palace, take a horse and carriage ride or sample the local cakes in one of the city’s renowned cafes.
You’ll set sail for Linz at lunchtime, arriving the next morning – plenty of time to make the most of the on-board facilities or reflect on your discoveries of the past few days with your
fellow travellers. - Linz - 7
Today is spent at leisure in vibrant Linz, the cultural capital of Upper Austria. Alternatively, why not enhance your cruise with a visit to the Czech Republic and Cesky Krumlov? One of Europe’s best preserved medieval towns, Cesky Krumlov is a genuine historical gem in the heart of Bohemia.
Back on board, your cruise comes to a close with a performance
by a local string quartet. - Passau/UK - 8
Your cruise along the mighty Danube comes to an end after breakfast with the transfer to Munich airport.
