  By air: Fly from a choice of airports to Dusseldorf and transfer to MV Serenade I, moored in Cologne.

  By rail: Eurostar from St Pancras to Brussels. On arrival, transfer to the ship by coach.

• Cochem - 2
  

  We cruise through the Moselle valley, passing through this gentle wine-growing region, to the beautiful town of Cochem. Enjoy a stroll around the pretty old town or join our optional excursion to the mighty Reichsburg Castle.

• Rhine Gorge & Rudesheim - 3
  

  We arrive in the pretty wine town of Rudesheim at breakfast time. There is an optional trip to Siegfied’s Mechanical Music Museum followed by free time.

• Strasbourg - 4
  

  We arrive in the medieval city of Strasbourg before lunch. The day is then free to explore this beautiful French city of canals, rivers and elegant buildings.You will see the best of Strasbourg, including the cathedral, on our optional city tour.

• Basel - 5
  

  By the early afternoon the cruise reaches Basel, the cultural capital of Switzerland. Admire the distinctive 14th-century cathedral with its distinctive multi-coloured roof on our optional walking tour of Basel.

• Basel/Bernese Oberland - 6
  

  Today there is an opportunity to join a spectacular full-day excursion to the stunning Bernese Oberland. We will visit the attractive town of Interlaken, take in views of sparkling waterfalls, and travel through small traditional villages and lush valleys.

• Mannheim - 7
  

  Arrive in Mannheim at lunchtime. The afternoon is free to explore the city of Mannheim or to join our optional tour to Heidelberg, set majestically on the banks of the Neckar and surrounded by hills.

• Koblenz - 8
  

  This morning we get to know the history-steeped Rhine Gorge and the spectacular Lorelei Rock. After lunch, we arrive in historic Koblenz, situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. In the afternoon there is an optional walking tour through the winding streets and atmospheric lanes.

• Cologne - 9
  

  Your cruise takes you through plenty of stunning scenery today as you pass fascinating sights such as the remains of the famous bridge at Remagen, and Andernach. We arrive in Cologne this afternoon. You are free to explore this riverside city dominated by the Gothic cathedral, or alternatively join our optional walking tour, including a visit to the cathedral.

• Cologne/UK - 10
  

  By air: Disembark and transfer to Dusseldorf airport for the flight home.

  By rail: Coach transfer to Brussels and onto Eurostar bound for St Pancras.
