Discover the best of the Rhine and Moselle as you voyage from Koblenz to Boppard. Sit back on the sundeck and admire magnificent cliff top castles, pretty riverside villages and half timbered houses and lush vineyards clinging to the hillsides of the river valley. Our journey will take in all the highlights that these great Rivers have to offer, including Cologne.
9-Day Break
Day 1 – Koblenz Selected early morning coach pick-ups and a journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 8.30am crossing to Calais. Alternatively, joinat the port or the Holiday Inn Ashford. Our coach then continues through France and Belgium to Germany where you will join the MS Arlene in Koblenz. After a welcome drink and time to freshen up, your three-course evening meal will be served on board. D
Day 2 – Koblenz - Cochem We continue downstream to the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley, where the river curves between the two escarpments of the Eifel & Hunsruck. Overlooking Cochem is the Reichsburg Castle. Today we have included an orientation tour of Cochem followed by free time to explore this gem of a town. B,L,D
Day 3 – Cochem - Bernkastel-Kues After enjoying a relaxing breakfast we continue to leisurely cruise upstream. Included tea & coffee will be served in the lounge mid morning, after which you are free enjoy the scenery from your floating viewing platform allowing you 360 degrees views of the Moselle.After lunch we will arrive at the Beautiful town of Bernkastel-Kaus, where after your included orientation tour you will have free time to explore the famous Medieval Market Square surrounded by many well-preserved half-timbered houses. Day 4 – Bernkastel-Kues - Zell This morning we leave Bernkastel-Kues behind us and continue to head upstream. There is nothing like the serenity of cruising through the meandering twists and turns of the Moselle, the silence is beautiful as the MS Arlene slices through the water. Relax and enjoy these magical Moselle moments. Arrival in Zell will be in good time after lunch allowing you to take part in our optional Castles of the Moselle and wine tasting tour. B,L,D
Day 5 – Zell - Andernach This morning as you enjoy breakfast we are making our way to the Rhineland town of Andernach. Enjoy free time strolling through the delightful streets and along the riverside promenades of this delightful walled town. In the afternoon, join us as we visit Maria Laach Abbey and Eiffel Volcanic trail. B,L,D
Day 6 – Andernach - Cologne We will cruise this morning from Andernach to Cologne, the Rhineland’s largest city is famous for its carnival, traditional pubs, bustling shopping centres and Eau de Cologne. Join our optional Cologne sightseeing tour, to get a real feel for this city. B,L,D
Day 7 - Cologne - Bonn - Remagan This morning we will head for Bonn. The market square is dominated by the baroque Old Town Hall, whose steps have been the scene of many historical events. This afternoon join our optional Bonn City Sightseeing tour. Arrival back on the MS Arlene will be in time for dinner and our cruise to Remagan where we will remain berthed overnight. B,L,D
Day 8 - Remagen - Boppard Today we cruise upstream, through what many describe as one of the most beautiful and romantic parts of the Rhine. Admire the magnificent Castles and Fortresses from your floating hotel. After lunch we will arrive in Boppard, the ‘Pearl of the Rhine’. Join us after lunch for our optional Castles of the Rhine excursion including castle entrance. Apart from its beauty, Boppard is famous for its Bopparder Ham Wine and for the longest promenade, built by the Romans, which is still very much in use today, ideal for that leisurely after dinner walk. Day 9 - Boppard After breakfast this morning, we must bid farewell to the MS Arlene and make ourway back to Calais for the 5.45pm return crossings. On arrival back in the UK, we will return you to your original joining point. B

Day 2 - Cochem (included)
Cochem is famed for its unique position beneath the magnificent vantage point of the Reichsburg Castle and particularly well known for its bustling market place. Join our orientation tour, followed by free time to explore.
Day 2 - Cochem Evening Wine Tasting (£14.99pp)
After dinner this evening add a little extra sparkle to your holiday and join us to sample some of the locals wine. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy some of the wine's for which this regional is so famous. After which you may wish to spend some free time in Cochem, exploring the old quarter and soaking up some more of the unique atmosphere.
Day 3 - Bernkastel-Kues Orientation Tour (included)
Bernkastel-Kues is famous for its wines and medieval market square. At the centre of the market square lies the fountain of St. Michael. Join our guides as they show you the highlights, before enjoying free time.
Day 4 - Machern Tour & Wine Tasting (£19.99pp)
Our coach will follow the meandering Moselle along the wonderful vineyards to the former Cistercian Abbey of Machern. Taste the local wine of a top German Vintner as secrets of this region are revealed. Free time allows you to explore the Doll-Museum, Schnapps-Distillery and the Beer-Brewery.
Day 5 Option 1 - Maria Laach Abbey and Eifel Volcanic Trail (£19.99pp)
This excursion begins with a visit to Maria Laach Abbey, a Benedictine abbey located on the wooded shores of a crater lake. From here we make our way through the Eifel and the famous Volcanic Trail.
Day 5 Option 2 - Andernach, Geyser and Boat Trip (£19.99pp)
Embedded in a picturesque landscape, the 2,000-year-old Roman city of Andernach, is located on one of the most beautiful parts of the Middle Rhine. The Andernach Geyser, the world's largest cold-water geyser, lies on the idyllic peninsula called Namedyer Werth, a local nature reserve. We visit the adventure centre where we learn about this natural phenomenon and enjoy a boat trip.
Day 6 Option 1 - Cologne City Tour (£19.99pp)
Cologne is famous for its mighty Gothic cathedral and for 4711: the original Eau de Cologne. Discover the medieval Old City, town hall and St Martins. After the tour you'll be free to explore, before we return to our vessel.
Day 6 Option 2 - Sunner Keller Brewery Tour (£19.99pp)
Join us on a fascinating journey through the past, present and future of the brewery and distillery - in a city that once boasted to have the most number of breweries in one German city! Sunner is a style of beer that is unique to Cologne and this is the oldest brewery in Cologne. It has been family owned and operated for six generations since 1830. This tour includes 3 glasses of lager as well as snacks.
Day 7 Option 1 - Bonn City Tour (£19.99pp)
Right at the centre of the city is the house where Beethoven was born. Bonn also boasts a wealth of outstanding museums and an old quarter with a number of impressive buildings found on much admired squares.
Day 7 Option 2 - Seven Mountains & Drachenfels by Train (£19.99pp)
The Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains) is today preserved as Germany's oldest nature reserve and has an ancient and haunting landscape. The most prominent of the seven hills being the Drachenfels. The ruins of the medieval castle that so inspired Lord Byron can still be seen at the top of the Drachenfels, which we will ascend by cog railway.
Day 8 Option 1 - Castles of the Rhine (£19.99pp)
We begin with a visit to Lahneck Castle: a classic example of Rhine romanticism. Before continuing to the famous Lorelei Rock to hear the legend and spend time at the visitors centre. It's all about the views on this very special excursion.
Day 8 Option 2 - Koblenz National Garden Show (£29.99pp)
Feast your eyes on the colour of thousands of flowers and blooms at the Electoral Palace with its uninterrupted views of the Rhine. The Blumenhof will display creative horticultural sculptures and gardens displaying plants and flowers from biblical mythology. Take a trip on the cable car over the Rhine and you'll find the largest area, the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress enthroned high above the valley with astounding views of the Rhine, the Moselle and the town.
