This cruise takes you to the east of the country where you'll visit the cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen.
5-Day Break
Day 1 – Amsterdam. Early morning pick-ups if travelling by coach, alternatively travel to your local airport for the flight to Amsterdam. Join the MS Arlene in Amsterdam in time to settle into your cabin and enjoy your included evening meal. D
Day 2 – Amsterdam - Wijk bij Duurstede. This morning we’ll be making our way to Wijk bij Duustede. On arrival enjoy free time and join an included tour of the town. B,L,D
Day 3 – Arnhem - Nijmegen. Today we arrive in Nijmegen, join our optional Historical Nijmegen tour or travel across the border to Kleve, where some of the best preserved medieval churches in Germany can be found. B,L,D
Day 4 – Nijmegen - Amsterdam. Cruise to Amsterdam, where we spend the afternoon and evening. Join us on an optional Amsterdam City tour including a cruise through the canals or explore the city yourself. This evening following the Captain’s dinner, join our optional sparkling city cruise with cheese and wine, or our Amsterdam By Night walking tour. B,L,D
Day 5 - Amsterdam. Join your coach for the return journey home or we take you from your ship to the airport. B

Wijk bij Duurstede Tour (included)
The little town of Wijk bij Duurstede is situated at the point where the Rhine becomes the Lek and the little Kromme Rijn branches off and flows northwest. In the early medieval period this was the site of an important inland port town, Dorestad. The ruins of the castle that once dominated the town still remain and you will see these along with the rest of the picturesque area on our included tour of the town.
Historical Tour of Nijmegen £19.99
On this tour you will see why its citizens are so proud of their city: The waterfront set against the backdrop of the city centre is a splendid sight and past and present go hand in hand. Historic buildings are interspersed with fine examples of modern architecture. Learn about the history of the City and its surroundings as you driver through the countryside and walk through the streets. The Valkhof Museum, has a permanent display of the history of Nijmegen, Valkhof hill downtown features a Carolingian chapel and a small remainder of an imperial castle that was demolished in 1798. Blauwe Hand, is the oldest bar in a town that boasts to have the most pubs per square feet than any other town in the Netherlands.
